I am convinced that smiling can fix just about anything.
Seriously.
I’ve been down and out, ready to quit something, or just give up, and someone will come up to me, start talking or laughing, and eventually lead me to smile.
My true friends and my girlfriend are especially good at that.
Recently, I spent a week in a really rough part of Alabama, near Birmingham.
During my time there, I came in contact with some really beaten down people who seemed to be at their wit ends, and through just being nice, encouraging them, and smiling, I was able to see a difference in their outlook and their attitude.
It’s a great feeling, I promise.
The human race, well, we’re a strange group of beings.
Our emotions are able to get the best of us many time, and sometimes lead us in the wrong direction.
I’m a strong believer that being nice to someone, and smiling, can change the direction that someone might be headed in.
So,
Today, tomorrow, or the next day, or the next (and so on and so forth),
Try to smile at someone, or encourage them.
You never know how it will affect their day.
Tyler and I sat around most of the afternoon waiting on the Swedes.. to no avail.
Ahhh, whatever will be will be.
Friday will be more productive.. so I have been told.
Haha.
I love the weather right now. I wish it was like this all year long, with the lower to mid ranged 80’s, a few puffy clouds, and abundant amounts of sunshine. Wouldn’t that be grand? I do believe so.
I seem to learn something every day about the human race. Today, I learned to never settle when it comes to your job.
If you do, you’ll be miserable.
I thoroughly enjoy what I do.
The lady that served me at Outback did not.
Enough said.
Moral of the day:
Be happy with your life, and never ever settle.
Have a wonderful evening children.
I woke up this morning about eight o’clock expecting to head out the door, grab some breakfast, and go power wash my grandmother’s house.
I guess it just wasn’t meant to be.
Instead, I opened my blinds to a rainy, dark, gloomy, overcast, dreary, (and the list goes on and on) day.
So, I rolled over in bed, and went back to sleep.
I woke up, unfortunately, about 2 hours later to a RESTRICTED call on my cell phone.
OK, HOW OLD ARE WE GUYS?
I mean, I prank called people at NIGHT when i was 10.
Not in the MORNING, especially not now, 7 years later.
But that’s not the point of this post.
The point is..
Well, I’m not exactly sure.
I just wanted to post something.
I took a break from some work, ordered a pizza (which I’m stoked for), I’m about to grab a shower & clean up my desk area before heading back to work.
I have work at church again tonight, and I’m not exactly excited about it.
Hopefully it will go well.
Have a great rest of the day guys.
Well, for starters, I’m Josh Tomlinson.
I run my own Mixed Media/ Creative company called Anchor Creative. I started my first project about 3 years ago when I began doing doodle projects on paint and photoshop. It moved onto more technically challenging things like learning HTML, CSS, etc. I now run Anchor which does Promotion, Graphics, Photography, Merch Design, & Filming.
I absolutely love what I do.
I’m dedicated to getting myself out there over the next couple of months in a big way as a reliable source for all things creative.
I work with some of my best friends to get everything done.
I have several supporters that have really helped me become who I am now in the business world.
My Father and Mother Troy & Sylvia Tomlinson have always been major influences in the way I run things. They give me guidance on just about every major decision I make.
Without them, I’m not sure that any of this could be possible.
Seriously.
I love you guys.
My main out-of-company is Tyler Ridings.
If you haven’t heard of Tyler yet, you will soon, I promise.
He runs TheTuneVault.com, an awesome start-up that you should definitely check out.
Recently, Tyler has given me some major opportunities to work with him in these supporter major, exciting times at TuneVault by Interning with him, and I really appreciate it.
Thanks Tyler.
My best friend, Logan Williams, works with me on every major creative endeavor I take on at Anchor, and he always has. We started our first company together last summer, and we haven’t looked back since.
He’s in my band with me, and we have a lot in common.
Thanks for always being here for me man, and hearing out my crazy-ass ideas.
My Girlfriend, Tori Campbell, always has my back.
She listens to me ramble about things I wanna do with my business, places I wanna go, people I want to meet, things I want for my life.. she listens to everything.
We have so many things in common, and she gives me the strength I need to keep going a lot of days.
Thank you Tori.
I love you.
